For more than two decades, First 5 Contra Costa has worked to support every child in our county in reaching their full potential by focusing on their most critical years of development—prenatal to age 5. Their focus on prevention, centers their work around equity, and play many roles in reaching their ultimate vision: funder, convener, and advocate.

Programs and Services:

• Capacity Building: First 5 Contra Costa offers providers and partners professional development opportunities that enhance service delivery, introduce new approaches, and bring an equity or trauma-informed lens to the work.

• Policy Advocacy: First 5 Contra Costa works to advance local, state and federal policies that foster more integrated systems that proactively support the wellbeing of young children and their families.

• Early Childhood Education: Their Early Childhood Education initiative helps ensure children have high-quality early learning experiences that help them succeed in school and in life.

• Early Intervention: The First 5 Early Intervention efforts ensure that families have access to prevention and early intervention supports that foster the optimal development of all children.
