TCC NEWSLETTER - RECAPPING NOVEMBER 2024

As we bid farewell to November and look forward to the holiday season, let’s take a moment to celebrate all the exciting things we experienced last month at TCC! Here are some highlights:

Exploring Ancient Rome

November was a blast from the past as we delved into the fascinating world of Ancient Rome!

Building Aqueducts

Our young historians explored engineering by building aqueducts and roads using cookies, chocolate, and graham crackers. This hands-on activity was not only fun but also educational, as the children learned about the ingenuity of Roman engineering while getting a sweet treat at the same time. They also participated in Roman dramatic play, where they dressed in togas, acted as senators, and experienced what life might have been like in ancient times.

The highlight of our Roman exploration was recreating the volcanic eruption of Pompeii. Using baking soda, vinegar, and some creative crafting, the children made their very own erupting volcanoes. The excitement and curiosity on their faces were priceless as they watched their experiments come to life.

As we move into December, we’re shifting gears to uncover California history, with engaging activities planned around the Gold Rush, missions, and more. Stay tuned for another month of adventure and discovery!

November Birthday Shout Outs!

A big happy birthday to our November stars! Aria (11/21), A’Mar (11/21), and Dominick (11/24) all celebrated another trip around the sun. Aria brought her cheerful energy to her special day, and her friends joined in with heartfelt wishes and fun activities. A'Mar and Dominick shared their birthday celebrations with laughter, delicious treats, and a sense of excitement that filled the room. We’re so grateful to have been a part of their joyful moments, and we can’t wait to celebrate even more birthdays in the months ahead.

Get Ready for the Game Truck!

Over the summer, our school-age children worked diligently on their Summer Reading Program binders, showcasing their creativity and commitment to learning. Each binder was carefully graded on three categories: Presentation, Organization, and Material. The colorful and well-organized binders truly reflected the effort and dedication our students put into their projects. Their passion for reading and learning shone through, with many students exceeding expectations and earning top marks.

To celebrate their success, Mrs. Stacie is organizing a game truck experience—an event sure to bring smiles and excitement to everyone involved! The game truck will provide a fun-filled opportunity for the children to relax, bond, and enjoy a well-deserved reward. While the date is still being finalized, the anticipation is already building. We’ll be sure to share updates as soon as plans are set.

Congratulations to all our participants for their hard work, and thank you for making the Summer Reading Program such a success!k.

Thanksgiving Harvest Party Fun!

Our annual Harvest Party was a massive success and a heartwarming way to bring our TCC families together. The event featured a delicious feast, with ham, mac and cheese, green beans, and so many more homemade favorites that left everyone full and happy. The children especially enjoyed the dessert table, which was loaded with pies, cookies, and festive treats that perfectly captured the flavors of fall.

Families, staff, and children enjoyed mingling, sharing stories, and reflecting on the many blessings of the season. The decorations, games, and festive atmosphere created an inviting environment where everyone felt at home.

We want to extend a big thank-you to everyone who contributed food, time, or resources to make this event so special. Here’s to more moments of togetherness as we move into the holiday season. We’re grateful for our amazing TCC community and wish you all a joyful December ahead.
