🌧️Weather Watchers Unite!
“Tiny Creatures, Big Curiosity!”

June brought with it a flurry of excitement as we turned our attention to the skies for our monthly theme: Weather! The children had an incredible time becoming little meteorologists, diving deep into the science of what’s happening above us every single day. From sunny skies to swirling storms, we explored it all with hands-on learning, creative discussions, and plenty of observation.
We kicked things off by studying the different types of clouds—and let us tell you, our students were fascinated! We learned about cirrus, cumulus, stratus, and even the big, fluffy cumulonimbus clouds that signal storms. It was especially exciting to learn that clouds form in different layers of the sky, depending on their type and function. Our students loved pointing out the clouds they saw each day during outside playtime, comparing them to the ones we learned about in class. Some of them even began creating their own cloud journals, sketching what they saw and guessing what kind of weather might follow. Future weather anchors in the making!

Once we had a good grasp of clouds, we ventured into the powerful and sometimes unpredictable world of storms. We talked about thunderstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes, and what causes these mighty weather events. We learned about the conditions that make each type of storm possible, and we explored how people around the world prepare for and stay safe during severe weather. The children were full of questions and curiosity—especially when we showed pictures and videos of lightning strikes, funnel clouds, and the swirling patterns of hurricanes from space. These lessons sparked thoughtful conversations and gave students a deeper respect for nature’s power.

To wrap up the month, our school-age students got a special treat—an indoor movie day featuring the classic weather-based film "Twister"! Watching tornado chasers in action brought all of our discussions to life in a thrilling and age-appropriate way. It was so fun hearing the kids shout out weather facts they remembered from class as the movie unfolded! The movie also sparked creative play, with some of the kids pretending to be storm chasers and creating "weather reports" of their own during playtime.
June’s weather theme wasn’t just educational—it was memorable, hands-on, and full of awe. We’re so proud of how curious and engaged our students were throughout the month, and we know they’ll never look at the sky the same way again. Keep asking questions, weather watchers—there’s a whole world in the clouds just waiting to be explored!
Here are some pictures of all the fun we had:
💐 Field Trip Adventures 💐
"Peaches & Parks"

Peach Picking
June gave us the perfect weather to explore the world outside of our classroom, and we had an absolute blast on two awesome field trips that brought learning to life! Our first adventure took us to the peach orchards for an unforgettable peach-picking experience.
The kids were filled with excitement as they walked between rows of trees bursting with ripe fruit, reaching up high to pluck their own peaches right off the branches. For many of our little ones, it was their very first time picking fruit straight from a tree—and the look of wonder on their faces was priceless.

There was something so special about feeling the fuzzy skin of the peaches in their hands and knowing they had chosen it themselves. After filling their baskets, the children got to taste-test the peaches they picked—and let’s just say, we’ve never seen so many happy, sticky faces all in one place! The sweetness of those sun-kissed fruits made for a delicious and healthy treat, and the experience also sparked conversations about how fruits grow, how farmers take care of trees, and why fresh foods are so good for our bodies. It was a day full of joy, learning, and lots of peachy memories we won’t soon forget!
A Day at Contra Loma
Our second adventure took us on a nature hike at Contra Loma. We walked the trails, spotted ducks, squirrels, and—wait for it—a momma turtle and her baby! The kids were amazed by the little wildlife moments all around them. It was a perfect blend of learning, exploring, and enjoying the beauty of nature together.
🎓 Graduation Celebration
"Honoring TCC's Class of 2025"

Graduation 2025 was truly one for the books! The joy in the air was undeniable as we gathered to honor and celebrate three incredible individuals who marked a major milestone in their educational journeys. Our proud graduates—Mia Gomez, Reniyah Stafford, and our beloved staff member, Ms. Jordyn—each walked across the stage with big smiles, beaming confidence, and bright futures ahead.
The ceremony was filled with heartfelt moments, beautiful decorations, and plenty of happy tears.

Our students dressed in their caps and gowns looked so grown up and full of pride, and their loved ones cheered with every step they took. These young graduates have worked hard all year, growing not only academically but socially and emotionally, and we couldn't be prouder of the amazing young individuals they’re becoming.
We want to give a very special thank you to Ms. Vicki, who graciously welcomed us into her home and created the perfect setting for our celebration. Her hospitality and warmth helped turn a special day into a truly unforgettable event. The backyard was beautifully decorated, with balloons, flowers, and plenty of sunshine to set the scene. It felt more like a family reunion than a ceremony—which is exactly the kind of love-filled energy we aim for at TCC.

Of course, none of this would have been possible without the support of our wonderful families. Thank you for showing up with your cameras, your claps, and your hearts full of pride. Your encouragement means the world to our students and teachers alike. These moments help build a sense of community that makes TCC such a special place to grow and learn.
To our 2025 graduates: this is only the beginning!
We are cheering for you in everything you do next. Whether you're heading to kindergarten, continuing your work with us, or taking the next step in your teaching career, know that your TCC family is behind you 100%. Congratulations, Class of 2025—you did it, and we are SO proud of you! 🎓💛

We wrapped up the month with two more amazing birthdays: Jayla McNairy (6/28) and Ezra Sharma (6/30). Jayla and Ezra, your TCC family is so proud of the kind, fun-loving students you're becoming. Student of the Month
Congratulations to Da'Mario McNairy!

Let’s give a big round of applause to Da’Mario McNairy, our Student of the Month for June! Da’Mario shows up each day with a can-do attitude and a bright smile. He’s a focused learner who is always ready to work hard and do his best, no matter the task.
When he’s not crushing it in our reading and math programs (and yes, he's doing amazing), you’ll find him quietly creating during his free time—drawing pictures, building structures, and letting his imagination lead the way. Da’Mario, we’re so proud of how much you’ve grown, and we’re excited to see all the wonderful things you’ll continue to accomplish!
