🦗 Insect Adventures with Ms. D 🐝

“Tiny Creatures, Big Curiosity!”

After a fun and imaginative camping exploration with Ms. Diana, our amazing mentee from Los Medanos College, the children’s curiosity was buzzing! They began asking thoughtful questions about the kinds of creatures they might encounter in the great outdoors. This sparked an exciting new theme — Insect Month! With so much natural interest from the children, we were eager to jump into a world filled with tiny wings, many legs, and fascinating facts.

We began by learning what makes an insect an insect — and that it’s not just about being small and crawling around! The children discovered that insects have three body parts (head, thorax, and abdomen), six legs, and most of them have antennae. This turned into fun guessing games and “insect detective” missions around the classroom. Our little explorers learned about bees and how they help flowers grow, they watched caterpillars munch leaves, and even acted out the wriggly movements of worms during circle time. Each insect brought its own set of learning opportunities — from math-based insect counting games to art projects that helped bring bugs to life on paper.

But the real magic happened when we introduced live ladybugs and butterflies to the classroom! The children were captivated from the very beginning — observing the tiny eggs, watching as they grew into larvae, and waiting in awe as they transformed inside their cocoons and chrysalises. When the butterflies finally emerged and the ladybugs began to crawl, our classroom was filled with wonder and excitement. The children gently held them, asked insightful questions, and cheered as we released the butterflies outside to continue their journey in nature.

This hands-on experience not only reinforced everything they had been learning, but it also sparked a deeper appreciation for the small creatures we often overlook. It reminded us all how powerful it is to connect learning to real-life, tactile experiences. The joy on their faces and the conversations they shared told us just how meaningful this exploration was. We’re so proud of our little scientists and can’t wait to continue exploring the insect world and their life cycles even more in June! 🐛🦋🐜

💐 Mother's Day Love! 💐

Honoring All Our Mothers

To all our incredible mothers, grandmothers, aunties, and motherly figures — we hope your Mother’s Day was as special as you are! Here at TCC, we recognize the love, sacrifice, and strength you pour into your children every single day. We truly appreciate everything you do, not just on Mother’s Day, but all year round.

We enjoyed celebrating you with sweet messages, handmade crafts, and lots of hugs. Your presence in our TCC family is a blessing, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You are cherished, honored, and always appreciated here at TCC!

💝 Staff Appreciation Month! 💝

"A Thank You From the Staff"

Wow — what a wonderful Teacher Appreciation Month! From the bottom of our hearts, the entire TCC staff wants to thank each and every family for the outpouring of kindness, generosity, and thoughtful gestures throughout May. The sweet notes, handmade cards, delicious treats, beautiful flowers, and creative gifts made us feel so incredibly special. Every little surprise reminded us just how much love and support surrounds our classrooms every day.

"You made May such a special month for us!"

We felt so appreciated and uplifted — and not just because of the goodies (although we enjoyed every bite!). The real gift was knowing that our hard work and dedication to your children is seen and valued. The positive words from you and your little ones meant so much to us. It’s a beautiful reminder that what we do truly matters — and that we’re making a difference in these important early years of learning and growing.

Yet, more than anything, we’re grateful for the strong partnership we share with our TCC families. When parents and teachers work together, it creates a nurturing, supportive environment that helps every child shine. Thank you for trusting us with your children and for being such a caring and involved part of the TCC community.

“We were feeling the Love!”

You truly made Teacher Appreciation Week one to remember. We felt the love and joy in every note, every hug, and every “thank you.” From all of us — thank you for making our week so meaningful and full of heart. We’re proud to be a part of your child’s journey and to continue growing together as one big TCC family!

🎉 May Birthday Shoutouts🎉

Celebrating All our May Babies

Happy Birthday to all our May Babies!
Happy Birthday to all our May Babies!

May was a month full of smiles, giggles, and birthday fun! We kicked off our celebrations by wishing Mr. Daniel and Ms. Nicole a very happy birthday on May 11th. Our little ones love their teachers and parents, and they were excited to sing loud birthday songs and give plenty of hugs and high-fives.

Later in the month, we celebrated our friend Michael, who turned another year older on May 21st! Michael was beaming with pride as we sang to him and shared in his special day. Balloons, birthday crowns, and sweet treats made it a moment to remember. Happy birthday to all our May babies — your TCC family loves you!

Student of the Month

Congratulations to Edward Stanford!

Hooray for Edward Stanford, our May Student of the Month! Edward has been an absolute ray of sunshine in our classroom. Every morning, he walks in with a bright smile and a cheerful “hello,” setting a positive tone for the day. His energy is kind, focused, and full of joy, making him a natural leader among his peers and a true delight to his teachers.

Edward approaches each activity with enthusiasm and a genuine curiosity to learn. Whether we're diving into a science experiment, singing songs during circle time, or working on handwriting, Edward gives his best effort. His eagerness to participate encourages others to join in and stay engaged. It’s easy to see how his positive attitude helps create a warm and welcoming classroom environment for everyone around him.

But what makes Edward truly stand out is his heart. He is incredibly thoughtful — quick to offer a helping hand, share with his classmates, and encourage others with kind words. He has shown respect and empathy not only toward his peers but also toward his teachers, always using his manners and listening attentively. He models what it means to be a great friend and a responsible student, even in the little moments that might go unnoticed.

We are so proud of the growth we’ve seen in Edward. Watching him take initiative, build confidence, and express himself with kindness has been a joy for the entire TCC team. Congratulations, Edward! Keep being the wonderful, joyful, and hard-working student that you are — your light shines bright, and we’re excited to see all the great things ahead for you!

☀️ Summer Programs Are Coming!

As the school year winds down, we are gearing up for an exciting summer here at TCC! Our summer programs will include a brand-new math component alongside our beloved reading activities. Over the past few months, our staff has been closely observing each child’s academic strengths and areas for growth. These insights have guided us in expanding our summer offerings to help every child thrive.

In addition to math and reading, we’re also introducing a biography report as part of our reading program.
