Hello TCC Families!
💛 Welcome to the August Newsletter!
Summer at Training Children’s Center has been full of fun, friendship, learning, and adventure! July gave our children plenty of opportunities to get outside, try new things, spend time together, and create memories that we will carry with us throughout the year.
From exciting field trips and Family Day to our Sports Month activities, July was packed with experiences that encouraged our children to learn through play. Whether they were bowling, swimming, watching a movie, creating art, or cheering each other on during sports activities, there was always something happening at TCC!
We are especially grateful for the families, staff, and community members who helped make July so special. So many of our summer experiences are possible because of the generosity and participation of the people who surround our children.
As we move into August, we are excited to continue the fun while also preparing for the new school year. Let's take a look back at some of our favorite July moments!

👨👩👧👦 Family Day at Six Flags!
"Making Memories Together"
Another Family Day is officially in the books! This year's Family Day brought our Training Children families together for a day of fun, laughter, food, and fellowship at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.
The weather definitely brought the summer heat, but it didn't stop our families from having a wonderful time. There is something special about seeing our TCC families outside of the normal classroom setting, enjoying each other's company and creating memories together.
Family Day is about more than just visiting an amusement park. It gives our children an opportunity to see their families connected with the other families and staff who are part of their TCC community. These shared experiences help strengthen the relationships that make our community so special.
We want to send a huge THANK YOU to all of our families and staff who participated and helped make the day successful. And a special thank-you to Mrs. Stacie for helping make the Family Day potluck possible. Your contributions, time, and support helped make this year's Family Day another wonderful TCC memory!

🎂 A Birthday Celebration:
"Happy Birthday, Axel!"
July gave us another reason to celebrate as we wished a very Happy Birthday to Axel, who celebrated his special day on July 14! Birthdays at TCC are always an opportunity to pause and celebrate the wonderful children who make our classroom community so special.
So once again, Happy Birthday, Axel! 🎉 We hope your birthday was filled with plenty of smiles, laughter, fun, and wonderful memories. Everyone at TCC wishes you an amazing year ahead!
⚽🏈⚾ Sports Month (Part 1)
"Learning, Playing & Having Fun!"
July kicked off our two-month Sports Month theme, and our children jumped right into the action! Throughout the month, we explored different sports through books, videos, games, creative activities, and plenty of hands-on play.
The children learned about soccer, football, and baseball, while discovering some of the basic rules and ideas behind each sport. More importantly, sports gave us a fun way to talk about teamwork, communication, confidence, patience, and encouraging one another.
Of course, sports weren't just about playing games! Our theme also inspired some fantastic creative projects. The children designed their own jerseys, cleats, and soccer balls inspired by the upcoming 2026 World Cup. It was exciting to see their creativity come to life as they imagined their own teams and designs.
We ended the first half of our two-month sports celebration with something especially delicious — Olympic rings cookies! 🍪🏅 The children had a sweet time creating and enjoying this Olympic-inspired treat. And don't worry — Sports Month isn't over yet! We have plenty more fun planned as we continue our theme into August.
🍦 Ice Cream Social with Ms. Vicki
"A Sweet Surprise for Everyone!"
What's better than a regular summer day at TCC?
An ice cream social!
We were so excited when Ms. Vicki surprised the children with a wonderful afternoon filled with ice cream, toppings, smiles, and lots of fun.
Ms. Vicki brought a variety of ice cream flavors and toppings so everyone could create their own special treat. The children had a great time choosing their favorites and making their ice cream exactly the way they wanted it.
The sweetest part of the afternoon was getting to share the experience together. Some of our parents were even able to join in on the fun! Moments like these remind us that the TCC community extends beyond the classroom.
A very special thank-you to Ms. Vicki! ❤️ We appreciate you thinking of our children and taking the time to create such a memorable experience for everyone. Your kindness helped make July a little sweeter!
🚌 Field Trips
"July Was a Month of Activity"
If there was one word to describe our July field trips, it would have to be FUN! We packed the month with exciting adventures that gave our children opportunities to explore, play, laugh, and experience new things together.
Crawdad Fishing
We started the month with a trip to Small World Park, where the children enjoyed an afternoon of crawdad fishing, rides, and playground fun. There was plenty to explore, and the children loved being able to spend the day outside enjoying all that the park had to offer.
Splash Party @ the Gomez's
Next came one of the most anticipated events of the summer — our Splash Party at the Gomez/Orozco home! 💦
The children had a fantastic time swimming and playing in the beautiful pool. And after all that activity, everyone was ready for some delicious hot dogs prepared by Mrs. Stacie. A huge thank-you goes to the Gomez and Orozco families for opening their home and helping create such a wonderful day for our children.
The Movies
Our adventures continued with a trip to AMC Theatres to see the new live-action Moana movie. Movie trips have become one of our favorite TCC traditions, and this was another fun opportunity to relax, enjoy a great story, and share the experience together.
Bowling
To close out our July adventures, we headed to Delta Bowl for an action-packed day of bowling, arcade games, and laser tag! The children bowled two games and celebrated plenty of strikes and spares along the way. From beginning to end, July's field trips gave our children memories they won't soon forget!
🌟Student of the Month
Congratulations, Adrian Carrillo!
This month, we are excited to shine the spotlight on our awesome Student of the Month, Adrian Carrillo!
Adrian may be one of the youngest students in the classroom, but he certainly has one of the biggest personalities!
Adrian brings an incredible amount of energy wherever he goes. He has a natural ability to make people laugh and keeps the classroom lively with his enthusiasm and sense of humor.
One of Adrian's favorite ways to entertain everyone is through his dance moves and reenactments of his favorite dinosaurs! 🦖 Whether he's showing off a new move or becoming his favorite prehistoric creature, Adrian has a way of bringing joy and laughter into the room.
We are proud to celebrate Adrian and all the personality, energy, and happiness he brings to TCC. Congratulations, Adrian! Keep being yourself, keep making us laugh, and keep letting that big personality shine!

Back-to-School & Sports Spirit Week
Let's Have Some Fun Before School Starts!
August is bringing us another opportunity to celebrate with Back-to-School/Sports Spirit Week! As we get closer to the start of a new school year, we're giving our children a few days to show their creativity, team spirit, and, of course, their TCC personality.
Here's what's coming up:
🏀 Tuesday, August 4 — Team Jersey Day
Wear your favorite team jersey and represent your squad!
🌎 Wednesday, August 5 — Country Colors Day
Show your international spirit by wearing colors representing your favorite country!
🏅 Thursday, August 6 — Olympic Rings Day
Get creative and celebrate the Olympic spirit!
😴 Friday, August 7 — Pajama Party
End the week in comfort! Come dressed in your favorite pajamas and get ready for a fun day.
Spirit Week is a great way to build excitement, encourage creativity, and give everyone something fun to look forward to as we transition toward the new school year.
📅 Upcoming Events
Mark Your Calendars!
August is already here, and we have a few important dates that our TCC families will want to keep on their calendars.
Mr. Zarvar Memorial Day: Monday, August 3 — TCC CLOSED
We will pause for Mr. Zarvar Memorial Day as we honor his memory and the impact he has had on our TCC community.
Staff Summer Break (Part 1): August 27–September 2 — TCC CLOSED
Our staff will have an opportunity to rest and recharge during the first part of their summer break. We appreciate our staff and the incredible work they do for our children throughout the year.
Please remember these dates as you plan the weeks ahead. We don't want anyone showing up to a closed TCC! 😊

Thank You for Being Part of TCC!
As we look back on July, we are reminded of how much fun can happen when children have opportunities to learn, explore, create, play, and simply enjoy being together. From sports and art to field trips, swimming, movies, bowling, and family celebrations, July was truly a month filled with memories.
But what makes these experiences meaningful isn't just the activities themselves. It's the people who make them possible — our children, families, staff, and friends of TCC. Every helping hand, shared meal, invitation, donation, and moment of encouragement contributes to the community we are building together.
As we continue through August, we are looking forward to more sports, more adventures, more laughter, and more opportunities for our children to grow. Summer may be winding down, but the fun at TCC certainly isn't!
Thank you for continuing to be part of the Training Children's Center family. We appreciate you, we celebrate you, and we can't wait to see what the next month brings!
