August Recap: Summer Fun, Learning & New Beginnings!
Hello TCC Families!
💛 Welcome back to our September Newsletter!
August was a wonderful month at Training Children Childcare! As summer came to a close, our classrooms were filled with learning, laughter, creativity, outdoor adventures, and plenty of opportunities for the children to grow together. From sports activities to special treats, we made the most of every summer day.
This month was also a time of transition. We celebrated the final weeks of summer while beginning to look ahead to a brand-new school year. The children had opportunities to explore new interests, practice new skills, and enjoy special moments with their teachers and friends.
As we move into September, we are excited about the new experiences waiting for us. We are especially looking forward to welcoming our new LMC mentees and continuing to encourage our children to ask questions, explore their interests, and discover the joy of learning.
So, let’s take a look back at some of the special moments that made August such a memorable month at TCC!

👨👩👧👦 Welcoming Our LMC Mentees
"Meet Ms. Zara & Ms. Emilia"
As we say goodbye to summer and welcome the back-to-school season, we are excited to welcome two new LMC mentees, Ms. Zara and Ms. Emilia! They will be joining us at TCC through December, and we are looking forward to everything they will bring to our classrooms.
During their first few weeks with us, Ms. Zara and Ms. Emilia will have an opportunity to spend time getting to know the children. They will interact with the class, listen to their ideas, observe their interests, and help discover what topics spark their curiosity.
But that's only the beginning! Once the children identify a topic they would like to explore, our mentees will help take that interest even further. Throughout the semester, the children will have opportunities to explore their chosen topic through books, creative projects, discussions, and hands-on activities.
We are excited to see where the children's curiosity takes them! We hope everyone will give Ms. Zara and Ms. Emilia a warm TCC welcome as they begin their time with us. We can't wait to learn, explore, and create together!
🎂 A Birthday Celebration:
"Two Special TCC Birthdays!"
August gave us another reason to celebrate as we recognized two very special members of our TCC family! We were excited to celebrate Declan Rafighi on August 14 and Miyanie Stafford on August 17. Birthdays are always a fun opportunity to make our children feel loved, appreciated, and celebrated.
A birthday at TCC is about more than just adding another year. It is a chance for our friends and teachers to stop and recognize the wonderful person growing right before our eyes. We love celebrating each child's unique personality, accomplishments, friendships, and all the little things that make them special.
We hope Declan and Miyanie had wonderful birthdays filled with smiles, laughter, and lots of love! Their special days gave us another opportunity to come together as a TCC family and make happy memories.
Happy Birthday, Declan and Miyanie! 🎉🎈 We are so grateful to have you as part of our TCC family, and we hope your new year is filled with exciting adventures, wonderful discoveries, and many reasons to smile!
⚽🏈⚾ Sports Month (Part 2)
"Learning, Moving & Having Fun!"
August brought Sports Month (part 2) to a fantastic finish! Throughout the summer, the children had opportunities to explore different sports while learning that being active can be fun, healthy, and a great way to spend time with friends. We wrapped up our exploration with some exciting activities centered around baseball.
Our sports exploration wasn't only about playing games. The children also learned about the importance of stretching before physical activity. We talked about how stretching helps prepare our bodies for movement and gives us a chance to take care of our muscles. Learning how to take care of our bodies is an important lesson that can stay with children long after Sports Month ends.
Of course, we couldn't have Sports Month without getting creative! The children made fun sports windsocks and designed classroom door jerseys. These projects gave everyone a chance to combine their creativity with their love of sports while adding some extra team spirit to our classrooms.
And what better way to enjoy summer than spending plenty of time outside? Our children took advantage of the fresh air, sunshine, and open space whenever they could. Sports Month was a great reminder that learning doesn't always have to happen at a desk—sometimes the best classroom is the great outdoors!
🍦 Yet Another Ice Cream Social
"A Sweet Way Summer Send Off"
What better way to say goodbye to summer than with ice cream?
During our final week of summer, Mrs. Stacie treated the children to a special ice cream social, and everyone was ready to enjoy this sweet surprise!
The children enjoyed delicious mini ice cream sandwiches from CREAM. There were smiles all around as everyone settled in to enjoy their special treat. Sometimes the simplest moments—sharing a snack, sitting with friends, and laughing together—become some of our favorite memories.
The ice cream social was also a wonderful way to celebrate everything the children experienced during the summer. From classroom projects and outdoor play to sports activities and special events, the summer was filled with opportunities to learn, explore, and have fun.
A huge THANK YOU to Mrs. Stacie for making our final week of summer extra sweet! 🍦💛 We appreciate you helping us create such a fun memory for the children as we closed out another great summer at TCC.
🌟Student of the Month
Congratulations, Jaziyah!
This month, we are proud to recognize Jaziyah Stafford as our Student of the Month!
Over the summer, our school-age children participated in the Summer Reading Program, and Jaziyah stood out by earning the highest grade among the school-age children.
Jaziyah's achievement reflects the hard work and effort she put into completing her assignments. We noticed that she completed her work with few mistakes, showing care and attention to what she was learning. Those little details matter, and Jaziyah demonstrated that putting in the effort can make a big difference.
But her accomplishment wasn't only about her own work. Jaziyah also took time to help her reading group. Being willing to support classmates and share what you know is an important part of being a great learner. We love seeing our children encourage one another and grow together.
Congratulations, Jaziyah! 📚🎉 We see all of your hard work, and we are proud of you! Keep reading, keep learning, keep helping others, and keep showing us what you can do. Your TCC family is cheering you on!

Mark Your Calendars!
A Few Important September Dates
September brings us into a new season and a new rhythm at TCC. As families settle back into school-year routines, we want to make sure everyone has these important dates on their calendars.
Labor Day Closure — Monday, September 7TCC will be closed in observance of Labor Day. We hope our families enjoy a safe and relaxing holiday!
Staff Summer Break, Part 2 — September 14–18Our TCC staff will have their second summer break during this week. Please make note of these dates as you plan your family's September schedule.
We appreciate our families helping us make these breaks possible. Rest is important for everyone—including the wonderful teachers and staff members who spend their days caring for and educating our children!
As always, please keep an eye out for additional reminders and announcements from TCC. We are looking forward to a wonderful September together!
❤️ Looking Ahead...
A New Season of Learning Begins
As we close the chapter on August, we are grateful for all the memories we made this summer. From sports and outdoor play to creative projects, birthday celebrations, and our sweet ice cream social, the children had so many opportunities to learn while simply enjoying being children.
Now, September brings a new beginning. New routines, new interests, new relationships, and new opportunities to learn are just around the corner. We are especially excited to see what questions our children will ask and what ideas they will bring into the classroom.
Thank you to our TCC families for being part of our community and for trusting us to be part of your children's journeys. Every day gives us another opportunity to help children discover who they are, what they can do, and how much they are capable of learning.
